We aggregate the most helpful Audi A5 2.0 TDI reviews from the best publications.

The 2.0 TDI found under lower-ranking Audi A5s has seen service in virtually everything the VW-Audi Group makes, but that’s probably because it’s a very impressive engine. It might not have the smoothness of the larger six-cylinder diesel, nor the outright performance of the TFSI petrols, but it has a great balance of much of what you need in an engine.

Testers say the 2.0 TDI is a relatively refined engine - perhaps slightly noisier than some rivals, but still smooth and once up to speed it settles down nicely. This should make motorway travel relaxing enough. While the heavy A5 body (and even heavier Quattro system in some models) can blunt performance, it still goes pretty well. Of course, the main benefits are in economy - over 60mpg is achievable, and tax is a pittance at £30 a year.

Priced at £31,805 in S line trim, this A5 is no bargain.
