We aggregate and summarise the most helpful Nissan Qashqai+2 2.0 reviews from the best publications.
Whether on paper or in the expert’s reviews, the naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol in the Qashqai 2.0 doesn’t seem like the best engine to go for. It manages 60mph in 11.7 seconds, which isn’t vastly quicker than the 1.5 dCi, but it’s nearly 20mpg poorer at 35.3mpg with a manual gearbox, so you lose out massively at the pumps. You’ll also pay £245 a year in road tax.
Reviewers aren’t keen. It’s quiet at lower revs but noisy as you accelerate harder, and it pulls cleanly, just not very hard. Matched with a continuously variable transmission, one reviewer even describes the high-rev drone as “horrible”. It’d be better with a manual, but even better if you went for one of the diesels - the 1.5 for economy, the 2.0 for more performance.
