Car changing is a big deal
The new Audi A6 e-tron is expected to debut early next year. It was first shown as a concept car a couple of years ago, and the production car has been spotted testing a few times since then. It’ll be available as either a saloon or an estate, and it should have up to 430 miles of range.

The new Audi A6 e-tron is getting closer to production. It’s a new electric saloon to provide an alternative to the Tesla Model S and Mercedes EQE. It’ll be available as either a saloon or an estate, and you can find out more about this new EV in the video below.
The A6 e-tron will be available with either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, and it could have up to 435 miles of range and 435hp.
When will the new Audi A6 e-tron go on sale?
The new Audi A6 e-tron will go on sale in early 2024, in both saloon and estate forms. There’s no official word on pricing just yet, but expect a figure of around £60,000.
New Audi A6 e-tron design
It’s been a couple of years now since the Audi A6 e-tron concept was revealed, and the new EV has been spotted testing a few times. It looks like this sleek design is going to make to production more or less unscathed.
It won’t look anything like today’s Audi A6. You can just about make out the blanked-off grille up front and the slim, split headlights. There’s also a large air intake in the lower bumper to help cool the battery.
The alloy wheels fitted to this prototype look similar to ones you can get on current Audi models, however they may be for testing purposes.
One thing that hasn’t changed over the concept version of the saloon is the eye-catching side profile. This is a long car — perhaps a little longer than the current Audi A6 – but its curved roofline is more like the sleek Audi A7’s.
Concept versions had a sleek LED light bar across the rear, but this prototype seems to be using a split set. These may have been fitted to mask the finished car’s design or they could be a sign that Audi’s changed the design of the concept’s backside.
New Audi S6 e-tron also spotted
A sporty version of this new EV has also been spotted testing, and it could be the S6 e-tron. This would sit between the A6 and the full-fat RS6 e-tron.
It may look a lot like the standard car, but look a little bit closer and you’ll see the massive brake discs and calipers. This prototype is likely to be using the same body as the standard car for now so as to not reveal too much of the final design.
You can expect the final Audi S6 e-tron to get more aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers, as well as some large alloy wheel designs.
New Audi A6 e-tron batteries and range
The new Audi A6 will be based on something called the PPE. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean it’ll be made of old face masks, PPE stand for Platform Premium electric. This technology will underpin a range of new Audi and Porsche models, including the Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan EV.
This means you can expect to see a 100kWh battery, which Audi claims will give this car up to 430 miles of range. It may also support 270kW fast charging, allowing the A6 e-tron to recoup up to 186 miles of range in 10 minutes.
New Audi A6 e-tron motors and performance
It’s expected the road-going version of the Audi A6 e-tron will come with multiple motor options.
Long-range versions are expected to use a single motor driving the rear wheels. High-performance versions should use a dual-motor setup with as much as 476hp and 800Nm of torque. These will come with four-wheel drive.
