November 30, 2010 by

We take a look at some stylish new videos of Land Rover’s 2011 models. Including their brand new car, the Evoque, plus the updated Freelander, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

Land Rover’s range has never been stronger, the quality of cars it’s producing is exceptional. The top three 4x4s on sale today, ranked by buzzScore, are all Land Rovers. The Range Rover Sport has a buzzScore of 8.3, the Discovery 8.4 and the Range Rover an incredible 9.2.

Car manufacturers, somewhat confusingly for buyers, always release their models for the next year about 6 months before the New Year starts. So these 2011 models (apart from the Evoque) have actually been available to buy for a couple of months.

Range Rover Evoque

The most exciting Land Rover for 2011 is the Evoque. It’s a highly anticipated car that that we’re confident will do extremely well. Two versions will be available, a 3 or a 5-door, with both coming with a range of engines to choose from. To learn more, take a look at our blog post on the Evoque models.

This video above shows the 5-door model, along with shots of the beautiful interior and huge panoramic sunroof.

2011 Range Rover Sport

The 2011 Range Rover Sport has had a freshen up for the new year. First off is a new 211bhp version of the 3.0 TDV6 engine, offering buyers a slightly lower powered, cheaper to run option to the existing 245 bhp version.

There will be a Limited Edition range, which has 3 new colours and some unique interior finishes. Off-road capability has also been taken up a notch, with the addition of Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control. Other changes include all existing engines having their fuel economy and CO2 emissions improved, thanks to a whole host of modified electronic wizardry and optimised aerodynamics.

2011 Freelander

The new Freelander 2 line-up includes the brands first ever two-wheel drive car. The 2WD version is called the eD4 and has a very economical 150bhp 2.2 diesel engine. The reviews have actually been very impressive for this version, it’s great on-road and thankfully still capable in the mud. There is also a upgraded version of the same 2.2 diesel engine, this time with 190bhp, found in the top of the range SD4 model.

Land Rover’s designers have been to work, giving the Freelander a new bumper, grille and headlights. The interior has barely changed, but there is now the option of a Premium Pack that has more luxurious leather, and electric seats.

2011 Range Rover

For 2011 the Range Rover has had a replacement diesel engine, a 4.4 TDV8. This new engine not only reduces CO2 and improves fuel economy over the old 3.6 TDV8, but also adds more power and increased acceleration. As with the Sport, this full fat Range Rover gets Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist.

The interior has always been one of the highlights of the Range Rover, and this 2011 update brought more equipment to the cabin, including optional reclining rear seats and a Harman Kardon 1200 watt 19 speaker sound system. Plus there is a new front grille, 8 new colours to choose from and 5 new wheel designs to ride on.
