DS 3 external dimensions
The DS 3 aims to offer an upmarket ownership experience in a small package. The car is small enough to fit through narrow gaps and into tight city parking spaces – it’s shorter than Ford Fiesta and narrower than a Vauxhall Corsa. The DS 3 also has great visibility and light controls, making town driving a doddle.
DS 3 interior dimensions
The DS 3 competes against small premium cars including the Audi A1, Mini Hatchback and Fiat 500. While some rivals are a little snug inside, the DS 3 has one of the more spacious interiors in the class, making it comfortable for four passengers. However, despite being roomy, the interior lacks storage space and there aren’t even any cupholders – a glaring oversight.
DS 3 boot space
A 285-litre boot trumps the Mini by 75-litres and the Fiat 500 by a whopping 105 litres. While it still isn’t as big as some other cars in the supermini class, there’s enough space for daily use or a weekend away, if you pack lightly. If you need to carry bulky items, the DS 3 has folding rear seats – they’ll bring boot space up to a generous 980 litres.

|Seats folded||980 litres|
DS 3 turning circle and fuel tank capacity
Tight spaces shouldn’t present too much of a problem for the DS 3 – its 10.4-metre turning circle is typical for a car of this class. You get a 50-litre fuel tank and, coupled with the most economical diesel engine, it offers a potential range as high as 913 miles.
|Turning circle||10.4 metres|
|Fuel tank||48 litres|
DS 3 weight
DS 3 is fairly light, benefiting fuel economy as well as acceleration, braking and handling. The lightest model – the 1.2-litre petrol – tips the scales at 975kg, rising to 1,275kgs for the heaviest version – the 1.6-litre diesel Cabriolet.
