Since 2005, the Romanian budget brand has become synonymous with producing simple, cheerful cars at highly competitive prices, and the new special edition models gain a selection of styling and equipment upgrades over the standard cars.
The most obvious change comes in the form of the unique paint colour. Dacia states that blue is the colour most synonymous with their brand, and as a result the Laureate Prime models are finished in a new Cosmos Blue metallic finish. The Duster mini SUV, the Sandero hatchback and the Logan MCV compact estate also feature alloy wheels and door mirror housings painted in a ‘Dark Metal’ shade.
Inside, the changes are subtle and tray true to the trio’s budget roots. Touches of blue trim which match the exterior paint can be found on the seatbelts, the seat bolsters and the floor mats.
Equipment levels are generous, including a leather steering wheel, climate control, cruise control and a new Media Nav Evolution navigation system. The latter adds a seven-inch touch screen linked to the audio system which is capable of streaming from devices via Bluetooth, USB or AUX connectivity.
Full pricing and specs will be revealed in spring 2015, while order books are expected to open soon afterwards.
