The new S Line Style Edition is your way of getting much more for... well, for a little bit more at least. In fact, Audi says you're getting 2,200 of extra equipment for a modest 950 premium.
Slotting in between the regular S Line and the recently unveiled Black Edition, the Style Edition majors on colour and kit, with a raft of pearl-effect paint finishes and colour-coded dashboard trims.
Exterior hues include Ice Silver, Phantom Black and Glacier White, plus the genuinely colourful Misano Red you see in the picture above. Select the three-door A1 and gloss black contrasting roof rails are standard, while a full gloss black roof appears on the Sportback five-door. The grille, mirrors and a few other details join the gloss black parade.
Naturally, the usual S Line body kit goodies are standard, as are a set of arch-filling 'five V-spoke' 17-inch alloys. Interior trimmings comprise a colour-coded dash if you've opted for red or white paint, or a liberal splashing of gloss black if you've plumped for black or silver. An S Line steering wheel, part-leather seats and a 6.5-inch retractable display screen with a Concert CD audio system add to the interior equipment tally.
Engine options include an 86 PS 1.2 TFSI, 122 PS 1.4 TFSI (both petrol-powered, for the record) and a 105 PS 1.6 TDI diesel - the latter emitting just 99 g/km of CO2, and achieving up to 74.3 mpg if you've a saintly right foot.

We're not sure Audi's claims of colour hold much water, but other than that the A1 S Line Style Edition (mouthful though it is) seems like a good way of side-stepping Audi's usually fearsome option prices for not a lot of extra dosh.
If you were already planning to buy an A1 in S Line trim then we'd suggest you give the Style Edition a look. Not before reading our full buying guide to the Audi A1 of course - where you'll find reviews, user reviews, stats, photos and videos.
