MINI Clubman Bond Street – Shop ‘Till You Drop

German-owned it may be, but MINI has never struggled to cultivate the perfect British image.

People loved the classic Mini and the sales figures suggest theyre rather fond of the current one, too. Throw a London address at the car, such as the MINI Clubman Bond Street you see here, and the tills will keep ringing.
Due to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, the limited-run Bond Street is the latest in a line of luxurious MINI special editions.
Midnight Black Metallic paint with Cool Champagne roof, exterior mirror caps, bonnet stripes and lower sections of the C-pillars radiates a suitably suave aura – ideal for frequenting the boutiques along Bond Street. Twin-spoke 17-inch alloys and subtle badging further separate it from regular Cooper models.

Inside youll be lounging in leather-lined luxury, with everything from the seats to the dashboard furnished in Friesian. Sports seats will hold you in place as you dash from shop to shop, while Deep Champagne and chrome accents break up the expanses of black leather.
Further chrome embellishes the exterior, as do front fog lights, while interior equipment includes climate control, Bluetooth, a USB port, automatic lights and wipers, height-adjustable seats, and lighting and storage packages. The most important storage package is of course the Clubmans boot, with 260 litres of capacity – 100 litres more than the MINI hatchback. That expands to 930 litres if you drop the rear seats, but if you dont, then rear-seat passengers get the same extra 80mm of legroom they always have.
Clubman Bond Street models are available with four different engines – the 1.6-litre, 122bhp Cooper, the turbocharged 184bhp Cooper S, the 112bhp diesel Cooper D, and the 143bhp Cooper SD. Six speeds are standard, with a six-speed auto as an option.
Priced from: 20,275 to 24,045

On sale from: March 2013

The limited nature of the Clubman Bond Street means interested parties will have to be quick when the car hits the streets in March, though we dont doubt therell be another special edition MINI on the way should you miss it – and another after that. And probably another after that. Still, with high equipment levels and a dash of luxury (and that MINI badge, of course), the Bond Street should prove a hit. Just remember that if you have some serious shopping to do, there are still more spacious vehicles on sale
