The Skoda Yeti is very much the darling of the automotive world. Adored by the critics and now, following the results of this year’s JD Power reliability survey, loved by its owners too. The compact SUV went straight in at number two, with only the Skoda Superb keeping it off the top spot. Not bad for a newcomer.
The Skoda Yeti has enjoyed a near-faultless existence since it burst onto the scene at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. But it wasn’t until 2011, when the Yeti enjoyed a 20-minute appearance on BBC’s Top Gear, that the car truly registered within the public’s conscience.
An epic feature, involving a Ferrari, some firefighters, a dog, some actual fire, a tattoo artist and a helicopter sent the Skoda website into meltdown and resulted in ‘Yeti’ trending on twitter for the first time since the ape-like creature was spotted in the Himalayas.*
And now there’s a new way to enjoy the Skoda Yeti with the launch of a new Adventure special edition. It’s based on the top-selling SE trim, but includes more than 2,250 worth of additional equipment at no extra cost.
Good news if you were thinking of buying a Yeti SE. Bad news if you don’t like white or silver, because the Adventure is only available in Candy White or Brilliant Silver Metallic.
Other features include 17-inch black and chrome ‘Matterhorn’ alloy wheels, a black roof, black door mirrors, silver roof rails and black side mouldings with chrome ledges.
Inside you’re treated to exclusive Adventure upholstery with silver stitching and tyre print design. In addition to the equipment found on the SE trim, sat nav comes as standard, as does a DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and a multi-function steering wheel.
Two engines are available – a 110PS 2.0-litre TDI with two-wheel drive and a 140PS 2.0-litre TDI with four-wheel drive. Fuel economy on the combined cycle is 55.4mpg and 48.7mpg respectively, along with emissions of 134g/km and 152g/km.

It’s genuinely hard to find anything negative to say about this latest special edition. It builds on the already generous spec of the SE model on what is one of Britain’s best loved new cars.
And it’s properly hard to say anything bad about the Skoda Yeti. There’s a range of frugal engines to choose from and if you opt for the 4×4 version, it’s a highly capable and enjoyable off-road toy.
Believe the hype – the Skoda Yeti drives well, is good value for money and is backed by one of the best dealer networks in the country. Start your Yeti Adventure today
