Car manufacturers like to tease us from time to time. Suzuki has released teaser shots of two new models in a poorly lit studio just to whet our appetite for what is to come. We’ve run them through Photoshop a handful of times to bring out some extra definition.
The first (above) is dubbed the IK-2, appears to be a small five door hatchback, which seems to fall somewhere between the supermini and family hatchback classes (think larger than a Ford Fiesta but smaller than a Focus.) This could potentially mean it’s the replacement for the Swift, but in an interview with Auto Express, a Suzuki spokesman suggested it would be larger and sit above the Swift – potentially making it a rival to crossovers like the Renault Captur.
The next preview (above), the IM-4, has the silhouette of a small SUV. This likely means that it will be the very-long-overdue replacement for the Jimny compact 4×4. Although in the same Auto Express interview, the spokesman suggested that the new model would be all-new in its own right, potentially sitting between the Jimny and the S-Cross. Even in from these mysterious images, we can see it takes styling cues from the Grand Vitara, such as the chunky door mirrors and small vent on the side of the bonnet edge.
If these images have got your pulse racing, you have just under a month to wait for the full details – Suzuki will be revealing both models at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
