New Ford Fiesta ST200 styling

The Fiesta ST200 sports the same aggressive front bumper and large air intakes as the standard ST with new 17-inch matt black alloy wheels and the option of unique ‘Storm Grey’ paint. The high performance stopping power is emphasised by bright red brake callipers that come as standard.

New Ford Fiesta ST200 interior

The Fiesta ST200’s interior is mostly the same as the standard ST’s. The excellent Recaro sports seats are now trimmed with part-leather upholstery and feature contrasting silver trim. Illuminated scuff plates on the doors and seatbelts with silver detailing complete the interior modifications. The new ST200 will almost certainly be fitted as standard with the same equipment as the current ST.

New Ford Fiesta ST200 engines and driving

Ford has re-configured the ST’s turbocharged 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine to produce 10 per cent more power for the ST200, bringing total output to 197hp – officially making it the most powerful production Fiesta ever. Shorter gearing allows the ST200 to accelerate to 62mph from rest in 6.7 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than the ST, while a 20 per cent increase in torque helps it pull more strongly up to its 143mph top speed.

The same stability control, sporty suspension and powerful brakes feature on the ST along with the ‘overboost’ function that temporarily bestows the ST with an additional 15hp when you floor the throttle.

If you’re after the most powerful Fiesta, however, you should look out for the Mountune tuning kit that not only offers 212hp, but is covered by the standard Ford warranty, too. This upgrade is available for £599 from any of Mountune’s 120 official UK dealers.

New Ford Fiesta ST200 price and release date

Ford hasn’t yet confirmed how much the ST200 will cost, but we expect it will be priced slightly cheaper than an entry-level Focus ST making it approximately £20,000 to £21,000. Production is due to start in June with the first round of ST200 customers receiving their new cars in summer 2016.
