Jaguar’s high-riding F-Pace SUV could soon be joined by a smaller, sportier model called the C-Pace. This new car would rival the likes of the Mercedes GLC Coupe and BMW X4 and help Jaguar expand its foothold in the SUV market. Here’s what we know so far…

Jaguar C-Pace – styling
The C-Pace will probably be slightly smaller than the F-Pace and have a sporty sloping roofline. It’s expected to keep numerous signature Jaguar details, however, including its sibling’s large rectangular grille, silver trim pieces in the bumpers and thin headlights.
The new C-Pace will probably feature a few more sharp lines and slightly more aggressive styling than the F-Pace to complement its lower-slung body. Future SVR versions may come with noticeably more aggressive body kits and new alloy wheels, too.
Jaguar C-Pace – interior
The luxurious F-Pace interior, with its array of gadgets and high-tech equipment, will probably be replicated in the new car. Plush materials will adorn its modern cabin but it might come with a few mild design tweaks to differentiate the two models.
Interior space will probably be compromised by the C-Pace’s sloping roofline, however. Its stylish coupe-like profile could affect headroom in the back and its slightly more compact dimensions might mean it offers less legroom and boot space, too.
Jaguar C-Pace – engines and driving
It’s likely the C-Pace and F-Pace will share a range of petrol and diesel engines. Entry-level models will probably come fitted with 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel units while top-spec cars could come fitted with a supercharged 3.0-litre petrol V6 producing 375hp.
Jaguar C-Pace price and release date
The C-Pace is expected to be priced to compete with the likes of the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe. As a result, entry-level cars could coast approximately £35,000 while range-topping versions could set you back closer to £50,000. It should make its public debut in late 2017 and go on sale the following year.
