Jeep has announced details of a new limited edition Renegade. It’s called the Night Eagle and gets added equipment and some cosmetic changes over the standard model. It follows the larger Cherokee Night Eagle that was launched in the UK in November 2015.
The new Renegade version is, like its bigger brother, based on the mid-range Longitude trim, but adds features such as black 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, satin grey Jeep logos and a unique Night Eagle badge. In addition, you get coloured roof bars, side mirrors and a satin grey and black front grille.
The new Night Eagle is limited to just 350 examples in the UK. Of these, just 160 will be available in the unique Volcano Sand matt paint finish. Two other colours are available – Carbon Black and Alpine White.
The Renegade Night Eagle’s interior has been upgraded with exclusive seats in brown fabric with electric lumbar support for the driver complemented by a leather wrapped steering wheel. Other amenities include climate control, an infotainment system with a five-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, sat nav and cruise control.
Other upgrades available for the Renegade Night Eagle include an electric panoramic sunroof, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a full-size spare wheel.
Under the bonnet, buyers can choose between a 1.6-litre 120hp diesel with two-wheel drive or a 2.0-litre 140hp diesel with four-wheel drive. Both are paired with Jeep’s six-speed manual gearbox. The smaller unit claims an average of 64.2mpg while the larger one returns 55.4mpg.
The limited edition models cost £21,595 for the 1.6 MultiJet II 120hp and £24,095 for the 2.0 MultiJet II 140hp 4WD. It’s on sale now in the UK.
