Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 styling
From the outside, the GLC 63 should be fairly easy to differentiate from lesser versions. Most obvious will be a set of huge alloy wheels and sports suspension that drops the car closer to the ground to give it a more purposeful stance. At the front, its deep bumper gains larger, more aggressive cooling vents while the rear is expected to sport a revised diffuser and numerous large exhaust tips.
Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 – interior
The GLC 63 should come fitted with a similarly smart interior as the standard car. Its slick modern design will be accompanied by plush materials and decent levels of standard equipment. A number of sporty touches, including contrasting trim pieces and supportive seats, should help you tell the two cars apart, however.
Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 driving and engines
Beneath the new car’s bonnet will sit a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre petrol V8. This unit is related to the bonkers version found in the AMG GT and should produce more than 500hp and 516lb ft of torque in potent ‘S’ guise. A 469hp GLC 63 will likely be offered, too, mirroring the C-Class saloon’s AMG lineup.
Under the skin, the GLC 63 should feature a smooth seven-speed automatic gearbox and come fitted with four-wheel drive as standard. Its suspension will use bespoke AMG components with adaptive dampers to offer a good balance between comfort and agility. Huge brake discs should keep the car’s immense grunt in check.
Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 prices and release date
The GLC 63 is expected to hit showrooms in early 2018 and cost approximately £70,000. Full details should be announced when the car is officially revealed to the public in 2017.
