Based on the Dynamique trim level, the Twingo Iconic features cosmetic tweaks and extra equipment. From the outside, the most notable changes include black door mirrors, tinted rear windows and an ‘Ultraviolet’ purple decal which runs the length of the car beneath the window line. The alloy wheel style is unique to the Iconic, measuring 16-inches and with Ultraviolet inserts – though they can be finished in black, too. Four paint finishes include two new options: Lunar grey and the same purple used elsewhere.
The Ultraviolet theme continues inside. The cabin is trimmed partly in leather, and features flashes of purple on the steering wheel, the air vents and surrounding the infotainment system and dials. For those who don’t consider purple to be their preferred hot beverage, those parts can also be picked in gloss black.
Equipment levels are generous. In addition to the part leather upholstery, standard kit includes, among others, cruise control, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation and electric heated mirrors. Mechanically the Iconic is identical to the rest of the Twingo range. That means the engine lineup consists of a 1.0-litre and 0.9-litre turbocharged petrol units, the latter returning up to 67.3mpg in official tests.
Prices for the Twingo Iconic start at £11,845 – £850 more than the equivalent Dynamique – with order books opening on 1 December. Put the Renault Twingo in our car configurator to see how much carwow could help you save, or if you still need help picking you next car, check out our car chooser.
