Car changing is a big deal
The popular family SUV is one of the UK’s best-selling cars, and the new model is bigger, more rugged and even more eye-catching
The current Hyundai Tucson has been on sale since 2021 and is such a huge seller that its wild design has sort of faded into the woodwork. It’s been one of the top 10 best-selling cars in the UK for the last four years, but now Hyundai’s shown off a first look at the model that will be replacing it and going toe-to-toe with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Nissan Qashqai and Kia Sportage.
Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.
These first images show a Korean-market version of the new Tucson, which adopts a new design first debuted on the Nexo hydrogen car. That means a much more upright silhouette, with a bluff front end featuring vertical daytime running lights and a full-width light bar running across the nose, forming an elongated ‘H’ shape. It’s a big departure from the insectoid face of the current car.

The rest of the body has a lot of off-roader influence, with massive squared-off wheelarches, skid plates and body cladding, making it look distinctly more rugged than the outgoing car. At the rear, there’s a similar light bar and vertically-stacked lights.
Two body lengths will be offered, with the global model pictured here measuring in at 4.7m long – around 180mm longer than the current Tucson. A shorter model will hit Europe, but that will still represent some bulking up over the existing car.

Inside, the Tucson’s twin 12.3-inch screens have been ditched for a new look shared with the Ioniq 3 electric car. There’s a slim driver’s display above a squared-off steering wheel, while the centre gets a huge touchscreen with just a few shortcut buttons beneath it. It looks like the same 14.6-inch unit as high-spec Ioniq 3 models, though that’s not confirmed.
The centre console gets an unusual two-tier design with a pair of wireless chargers, cupholders and storage under the armrest. In the rear, there’s improved headroom, wider-opening rear doors and presumably a chunk of extra legroom too.

There’s no word on engines just yet, but you can expect a similar range of hybridised petrol engines to the existing model. Trim levels are also under wraps, though a rugged XRT model has been revealed with a different grille, bespoke wheels, and even beefier bodywork. Previous versions of this haven’t hit the UK, though.
Today’s Tucson starts from just under £31,000, but we’d expect a creep upwards for this new bigger and more sophisticated model. UK sales are likely to begin during 2027, with a European-specification version expected to be revealed in the coming months.
