carwow was founded in 2010 as the Rotten Tomatoes of the car review world.
However, founders James, Alexandra and David soon realised they could do more than just help people decide which car to buy - they could also help them buy it!
After successfully launching in the UK, carwow went international - landing in Germany in 2016 and Spain in 2018
We've been on an exciting journey. Within the space of a year, we recruited 200 people to our team, opened a new Operations & Tech base in Portugal AND launched our 'sell your car' feature in the UK and Germany meaning users could sell their old car, as well as find their next. Now, we are focusing on growing this further as well as introducing some exciting new categories….watch this space.
We’re fast-moving, ever-evolving and our team cares about what they do - as well as each other.
Every quarter we bring the team together - whether it's for our renowned carwow olympics (all locations), a UK cheese and wine night, a German Oktoberfest celebration or a game of Padel in Spain.
One of our goals is to be a top 10 European scale-up to work for.

We always ask ourselves ‘how can we make things better?’ and our DE&I journey is no different. We've worked on making our hiring process fairer and have rolled out DE&I training for all carwowers. Our employee-led Diversity Committees are thriving - promoting education and awareness initiatives internally while also working with our local communities and championing customer facing initiatives across our locations. We run a bi-annual D&I survey to measure progress and openly share our results with our teams. We want to do a lot more, but we’re committed to the path ahead.
