This small SUV has got a big boot compared with alternatives and a great infotainment system. The best part? You can buy a used example through Carwow from less than £14,000.

Today’s used car deal is an SUV that’s got a fantastic Google-based infotainment system, a hybrid model that’s economical, and a large boot despite its small stature. Here’s everything you need to know about the Renault Captur, which could be yours from less than £14,000 when you buy one used through Carwow.

Buy a used Renault Captur from less than £14,000*

A brand-new Renault Captur usually starts at around £22,215, but you can buy a second-hand model through Carwow for a lot less. For instance, this used example from 2024 has a 91hp 1.0-litre petrol engine and 33,862 miles on the clock, all for £13,850. With this, you get the following features:

  • Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
  • Five star safety rating
  • 404 litres of boot space
  • Cruise control and speed limiter
  • Parking camera and sensors
  • 17-inch alloy wheels

Why consider a used Renault Captur?

I’d recommend the Renault Captur because it’s a top-notch small SUV that’s got stylish looks, great practicality and is good value for money. Inside, you get a mixture of nice soft-touch materials across the dashboard, and it’s got an enormous boot that’s bigger than alternatives. However, some of the safety kit is only reserved for its top-spec models.

The Captur comes with the choice of two engines: a 115hp petrol paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, or a 1.8-litre hybrid. I’d recommend the hybrid as it’s much more powerful, extremely efficient and quite nice to drive. That said, it’s got a rather firm suspension and you bounce about over potholes. The hybrid system is also hesitant at times.

Alternatives to the Renault Captur

Still not convinced? Here are three other options to consider:

  • Toyota Yaris Cross: Hybrid engine is economical but it can be noisy.
  • Peugeot 2008: 3D dashboard display but the infotainment system can be a pain to navigate.
  • Hyundai Kona: Quiet motorway cruiser but alternatives are comfier over bumps.
