Colour guide
Solid - Pure white
Free
Your only choice if you prefer not to pay for a paint colour. Pure White is also the only hue with a solid finish. It won’t show up scratches easily and should help resale values, but surely a more adventurous colour would better suit this smart-looking SUV.
Metallic - Glacier white
£750
If you’re set on white but want a bit more sparkle, then Glacier White with a metallic finish is a good option. It will be popular with used car buyers and won’t show up scratches easily. Dirt is more noticeable on a light colour such as this, so you’ll need to wash it frequently to keep that sparkle.

Metallic - Matador red
£750
Matador Red is a darker shade that looks a bit more grown-up than the brighter reds available on smaller Audis. It’s still a rather unique choice, though, and may not appeal to everyone. It looks best on the higher trims, although it will need frequent cleaning to look its best.
Metallic - Mythos black
£750
This is one of the more popular colour choices out there, it gives the Q7 a serious and foreboding look that’s further accentuated on higher trims with their large alloy wheels and sporty body kits. It won’t show up dirt easily, either.
Metallic - Navarra blue
£750
Navarra Blue is a slightly lighter shade than Waitomo Blue, giving the Q7 a sportier demeanour. As such it looks great with the large 22-inch alloys on the Vorsprung trim. Not everyone is looking for such overt sportiness in their Q7, though, which may make it a harder sell than more demure colours in the years to come.
Metallic - Satellite silver
£750
This is a firm favourite with many buyers, and the metallic finish adds even more shine to an already sparkly paint job. It will do well on the used car market, too, but there are a lot of more exciting colours to pick from for the same price.
Metallic - Tamarind brown
£750
This dark brown hue is a great choice for the imposing Q7, especially when paired with a lighter interior colour. It will hide dirt well and has a deep shine too it that really looks great in sunlight. It may not be quite as popular with used car buyers, but that shouldn’t dissuade you – especially if you are leasing the vehicle.
Metallic - Vicuna beige
£750
Vicuna Beige has a subtle creamy, elegant shine too it that gives the Q7 even more upmarket appeal. Odd then that it’s only offered on the base Sport trim. It should help resale values and you won’t see scrapes and dings on the paintwork as easily as you would on a dark colour.
Metallic - Waitomo blue
£750
Waitomo Blue is a deep and dark colour that suits the Q7 well. It’s available solely on the base Sport trim and looks great with some larger wheels and a grey leather interior. It may not be as safe a bet on the used car market as white or black, but it’s sure to find plenty of willing buyers when you sell it on.
Pearl - Daytona grey
£750
Offered on the upper three trims, Daytona Grey is the only colour with a pearl effect finish. It looks suitably posh, and its dark hue will appeal to the used car market and be easy to keep clean.
Metallic - Chili red
£795
Metallic - Chilli red
£795
For a very strong, bright, red metallic, Chilli Red is unusually well-priced as an option. It’s a tough look to pull off though, considering that the sheer size of the Q7 means that you’re dealing with an awful lot of paint, but if you’re happy for people to mistake you for the local fire service captain, go for it.
Special metallic - Ascari blue
£1,495
Ascari Blue is, technically, a nice, strong metallic blue but for some reason it just always looks too dull under darker UK skies. Down on the Med or the Adriatic, where there’s yellow light in the sky, it comes to life much more, but here in Blighty it just looks too plain, especially for the price Audi is asking.
Special metallic - Sakhir gold
£1,495
Categorise Sakhir Gold (named after the race track where the Bahrain Grand Prix is held — Audi is getting its F1 references in early) as something of a brave choice. It’s actually quite a handsome colour, but as with Chilli Red, there’s a lot of Q7 to cover, which can make it look a bit too ‘bling’ for some.
