Car changing is a big deal
Jaguar’s controversial new four-door GT car is getting closer to reality, but an SUV is also expected if that’s more your thing. We’ve created some exclusive images to show you what it might look like.
Say what you will about Jaguar, you can’t deny that its recent rebranding antics have put this brand back on the map. Few cars have caused quite such a stir as the Type 00 concept. The production four-door GT inspired by this car will be revealed next year, but that’s not the only model to come from Jaguar before the end of the decade.
An SUV is also on the cards. It’s not due for a couple of years yet, but you can expect a Porsche Cayenne-sized behemoth with a sloping roofline, wild styling and over 1,000hp.
New Jaguar Type 00 SUV – here’s what we think it’ll look like
The design of the Jaguar Type 00 concept translates quite well into a coupe SUV thanks to its boxy proportions.

That bluff front end suits a jacked-up car, as does the slatted faux radiator grille arrangement. The bonnet isn’t likely to be quite as long as it is on the Type 00 concept because that would look odd on an SUV.
Size-wise, you can expect this to be a big old beast. Think Porsche Cayenne EV or Mercedes EQS SUV. We reckon Jag will go for a sloping coupe-esque roofline with this car, as opposed to something more boxy and rugged. It’s in better keeping with the concept.

Moving to the rear, we’ve translated the wide hips and muscular haunches from the Type 00 onto this SUV to give it a brawny appearance. You can also expect a lack of rear window, and the louvres across the rear end are another signature detail of the Type 00.
New Jaguar Type 00 SUV – what’s powering it?
In short, it’s too early to say. This car isn’t due to be launched for at least another couple of years, and we haven’t even seen a prototype out testing yet. However, it’ll share parts with the four-door GT car based on the Type 00 concept, so we can take an estimated guess at some numbers.

The four-door GT uses three electric motors which put out about 1,000hp combined, so you can expect to see similar numbers from a future SUV. Jaguar also claimed the GT would have around 480 miles of range, but with an SUV being bigger and less aerodynamic it could have closer to 450 miles.
New Jaguar Type 00 SUV – when can I buy one?
Not for a while yet. All we know so far is that Jaguar is planning to make an SUV in the future, and that it’s likely to be towards the end of the decade. Given the four-door GT car isn’t due to go on sale until the end of next year, an SUV isn’t likely until at least 2028. You can also expect a price tag well into six figures.
