Premium paint - Phantom black
£570
There’s only so far wrong you can go by painting a five-door family hatchback in metallic black, and the Ceed’s Phantom black option looks tolerably smart. It’s a bit bland, but it’s smart.
Premium paint - Infra Red
£570
This is a good, strident red and the Ceed’s body wears it well. It’s very hard to go wrong with a bright red on a hatchback shape, and so it proves here — a good choice.
Premium paint - Fusion white
£570
For a premium paint choice, this doesn’t look nor feel very premium. Sure, it’s a metallic white and not a basic flat white, but either way in this shade the Ceed just screams airport hire car to anyone within range. Avoid.
Premium paint - Dark penta metal
£570
Penta’s a good choice for the Ceed. Unlike most other metallic greys, there’s a hint of blue under the topcoat, which looks more interesting on a dull day, and there’s an almost matte-finish style about it. Not the most thrilling colour, but more interesting than black.
Premium paint - Blue Flame
£570
Again only available on the top-spec GT-Line mode, Blue flame has more than a little in common with the ‘Estoril blue’ BMW offers on its M-Sport models. Definitely not for the shy and retiring among you, but arguably an easier colour to live with than orange or yellow.
