Colour guide
Solid - Arkona white
Free
Arkona White is a solid paint and is also the only free colour for the Audi A5 Sportback. Being white it’s a safe and sensible colour choice, meaning it will be easy to sell on in the future, but will be harder to clean as it will show all of the filth kicked up from the road and other road users.
Metallic - Chronos grey
£725
Chronos Grey is one of many metallic paint options on offer, but looks like someone printed off a picture in just black and white. However, being a neutral tone, it presents a sense of discretion, and will hold its value well.

Metallic - Firmament blue
£725
Firmament Blue is one of the classiest colours to have your A5 painted in, and makes the car look even more premium. Audi has always produced good blues, and this is one of their best.
Metallic - Floret silver
£725
Floret Silver is only available on the Sport trim on the A5, and suits the more subtle styling of the Sport body kit. It is a metallic silver, which itself is a classic colour so it’s bound to be quite popular with buyers.
Metallic - Glacier white
£725
Glacier White is slightly different to the non-metallic Arkona White, as it’s got a very light silver shimmer, popping under good light. Metallic whites are still very popular with buyers, as it's modern and crisp. However, you’ll be at the car wash a lot more if you choose Glacier White.
Metallic - Grenadine red
£725
Grenadine Red was first seen on the bigger A6 and A7 models a few years ago, and has now made its way to the A5. It has a deep and vibrant metallic flake, which has very faint hints of orange to it in certain light. Grenadine Red also shows off the design of the A5 particularly well, and suits the A5, no matter what trim level you get.
Metallic - Horizon blue
£725
Horizon Blue is quite an inky blue, with a nice metallic sheen that changes ever so slightly in certain light. Audi also used this blue for the marketing and launch imagery for the A5. Horizon Blue is a good paint option for those who want a sleek looking car, but without it being too flashy.
Metallic - Mythos black
£725
Unusually for a German car, the A5 is only offered with one black paint, with it being Mythos Black. Like a white or a grey, black is a safe choice for buyers. It also complements the silver exterior accents too. You can’t go wrong with this.
Pearl - Daytona grey
£725
Daytona Grey is one of Audi’s signature colours, with almost every model having it as a paint option since it was introduced. Being a sportier, more athletic colour, Daytona grey is reserved for both the S Line and Edition 1 trims of the A5. It looks particularly smart on the Edition 1 trim, with it contrasting against the black trim pieces such as the badges and window surrounds.
Special metallic - Ascari blue
£1,495
Another Audi classic colour, Ascari Blue is limited to just S Line and Edition 1 models. Ascari blue is a deep and bold blue, but is more…blue than Frimament blue. However, it is the most expensive normal paint on an A5, coming in at £1,495. Ascari blue is definitely a desirable colour and results in compliments being given.
Audi Exclusive - Custom
£4,500
Similar to BMW’s Individual and Mercedes’s Manufaktur programme, Audi offers Exclusive paint. There’s a collection of paints you can configure such as the gorgeous Merlin Pearl or the sophisticated Teak Brown metallic, but you can go even more personal and choose from almost any colour you want. However, these paints are not cheap, coming in at a hair raising £4,500.
