The trim levels for the Lexus LBX start with Urban, which includes the latest version of the company’s safety system, bundling together various driver assistance technologies. Safety features continue with front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera, while there’s more tech, in the form of a 9.8” touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

Buyers stepping up to the Premium specification can enjoy single-colour ambient lighting, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless smartphone charger and rain-sensing wipers. If you like the specification of Premium models, but wish there was a version with more standout design features, you’re in luck: Lexus has the Premium Plus Design spec. This adds a bi-tone exterior finish, machined 18” alloy wheels and perforated synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching.

The Takumi trim level piles the features on, adding to everything on Premium Plus Design cars. For example, there’s multicolour ambient lighting, semi-aniline leather upholstery,13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, and LED headlights and front fog lights. An Advanced Safety Pack also includes panoramic view monitor, lane change assist, lane trace assist, front cross traffic alert with auto-brake.

Takumi Design cars include all the features you get with a Takumi trim car, but in an attempt to differentiate you also get more eye-catching features, such as a bi-tone exterior finish, and leather and ultrasuede upholstery.

For those early buyers who put an early deposit down on a limited-edition version of the LBX, the Original Edition spec takes everything from the fully-loaded Takumi Design trim and then adds even more. In this case, there are matt black 18” alloy wheels, a C-pillar decal, bumper inserts and a unique bi-tone colour, called Sonic Copper.
