Ford has announced the release of a new trim level for the practical B-Max mini-MPV. Called the Colour Editions, the new models offers a range of unique cosmetic upgrades and engine options offered in Ford’s Vauxhall Meriva rival.

The styling changes aim to give the B-Max a sportier appearance. A subtle body kit features a deeper front bumper, plus a body colour rear spoiler and diffuser in the rear bumper. Three Colour Editions are available – red, silver, and white – all of which feature a roof and door mirrors painted black. Likewise, the front grille and 16-inch alloy wheels are also black, and rear tinted glass completes the changes.
The Colour Editions are powered by a 138hp version of Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Used for the first time outside the Fiesta Zetec S Red/Black Edition, the new unit makes the Colour Editions the most powerful B-Max range yet. The 0-62mph dash takes 10.2 seconds and, driven gently, they’ll return fuel economy of 56.5mpg.

The new models are based on the B-Max Zetec – the sweet spot in the range. Standard equipment includes LED daytime running lights, a heated windscreen, air conditioning, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and USB connectivity for media players.
