Car changing is a big deal
This is the new Porsche 911 Turbo S, and it’s packing a whopping 711hp thanks to some clever new hybrid tech. Here’s everything you need to know.

Porsche has been slowly updating its 911 range over the past year or so, and the Turbo S is the last car to get a revamp. The styling and interior have both been tweaked, but these changes pale in comparison to what’s new under the skin.
The old Turbo S was a favourite on the Carwow drag strip because it was ballistically fast, but the new one has an additional 61hp and it’s 0.2 of a second quicker to 60mph.

New Porsche 911 Turbo S engine and performance
You might be expecting the new Porsche 911 Turbo S to have a bigger engine given that it’s more powerful, but it’s actually downsized. Granted, it’s not a huge drop; it’s gone from a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine to a 3.6-litre unit.

The added grunt comes courtesy of a hybrid system which we first saw on the Carrera GTS. It’s a lightweight 400-volt electric system with a pair of electrified turbos at its heart. These can spool up quicker than traditional turbos, as well as add more power, to make the new 911 Turbo S feel even more responsive.
The upshot of this new technology is 711hp and 800Nm of torque. That’s 61hp more than the old Turbo S, although torque remains the same. It’s also now slightly quicker from 0-60mph than before, with the sprint time falling from 2.7 to 2.5 seconds.
New Porsche 911 Turbo S chassis and suspension
Porsche hasn’t just given the new 911 Turbo S more power, it’s also improved the handling with a handful of suspension tweaks.
The 400-volt electrical system has allowed the engineers to fit it with electro-hydraulic active suspension, which uses pressurised fluid to counteract bodyroll through the corners. It also makes it more comfortable for daily driving.
There’s some clever active aero as well, including a front diffuser which can deploy at high speeds and an adjustable rear wing. To keep the brakes cool, you also get some vents which channel air over the discs.

Put all of this together with the added power, and the new Porsche 911 Turbo is around 14 seconds faster around the Nurburgring than the old one. That is a bonkers improvement in supercar terms.
New Porsche 911 Turbo S design
Changes to the outside of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S aren’t quite as radical as the mechanicals, but then again the 911’s design has remained pretty much the same for the past 60 plus years.

It has tweaked headlights up front with new LED signatures, and the front bumper has been updated with similar vertical slats lower down as the GTS. This car is wider than other 911s though, giving it a more muscular stance.

Moving to the rear and you have a slightly more aggressive-looking lower bumper, and the taillights are marginally different as well. It’s all very familiar, but that’s how Porsche owners like it.
New Porsche 911 Turbo S: when can I buy one?
The new Porsche 911 Turbo S will go on sale soon, with first deliveries expected in early 2026. There’s no word on price just yet, however you can expect this car to fetch a premium over its predecessor. That means it could get close to £200,000.
