Metallic - Reef blue

Reef Blue conjures up images of Pacific waters lapping against pure white sand. Sadly, on a VW Taigo Reef Blue is a relatively pleasant metallic blue. It’s quite classy, but not especially exciting. Optionally comes with a black roof.

Metallic - Reflex silver
Free
As with other VW models, Reflex Sliver is quite a bright, almost cold silver which is fine, but it does tend to wash out the styling of the cars it’s applied to, and the Taigo doesn’t have a lot of styling to go around. Optional contrast black roof helps, but it’s expensive.
Metallic - Smokey grey
Free
Smokey Grey could have been just another metallic grey applied to yet another compact crossover, but it’s actually a slightly more interesting colour, with a strong blue undertone that makes it stand out a little more than you’d expect. It’s dark enough that the optional contrast black roof doesn’t really work with it.
Metallic - Visual green
Free
Visual Green is a really great colour for the Taigo. On dull days it looks darker and more camouflage-style while on bright, sunny days it really pops with vivid green highlights. Works great with the optional black roof, but that’s an expensive extra.
Solid - Ascot grey
Free
By free paint standards, Ascot Grey is actually a bit of a belter. It’s less of a grey and more of a creamy off-white, which looks really good on the Taigo. Works exceptionally well with the optional contrast black roof, too which doesn’t cost too much extra.

Two tone solid - Ascot grey/Flat black
£235
Special solid - Pure white
£405
Solid White is a solid enough choice, but it’s very plain and the Taigo isn’t the most exciting looking car, so it needs a more striking colour. Inevitably, it ends up looking like an airport hire car.
Pearlescent - Deep Black
£675
This pearlescent black option is a bit of a waste, not least as it’s quite an expensive colour. For the extra that you’re paying, it’s just not lively enough and ends up looking really quite flat.
Special two tone solid- Pure white/Flat black
£675
There's not much different between this and the regular pure white paint, but you do get some extra black parts, most notably the roof, which offers a nice level of contrast.
Special metallic - Kings red
£860
Volkswagen asks a lot for this Kings Red paint, not least because the Taigo is supposed to be a relatively affordable car. It looks smart, with a deep lustrous finish, but it’s a lot to spend. Even more expensive with the optional contrast black roof.

Two tone metallic - Reflex silver/Flat black
£910
As we mentioned with the standard reflex silver paint job, this doesn't do a great deal to highlight the Taigo's lines. However, when contrasted with the black roof it does go some way to adding some character if you can justify the extra cash.
Two tone metallic - Smokey grey/Flat black
£910
We do like this smokey grey shade with its blue undertones making it a bit more interesting than your typical small grey SUV. The black roof is less obviously contrasting than in other colours, but it works quite well with the bodywork's subdued tones.
Two tone metallic - Visual green/Flat black
£910
Visual green is a bold choice and adding some extra black bodywork doesn't do much to make it more subtle. Despite this, it does work really well with the black roof as it pops against the brighter colour.
Additional two tone Metallic/Pearl - Kings Red / Black
£1,095
Additional two tone metallic - Kings red/Flat black
£1,095
This is easily the most expensive paint you can get for your Taigo. It's a deep, dark colour that adds some sophistication, and while the black roof works quite well, it feels like unnecessary extra expense given the already steep price of a regular Kings Red paint job.
