Car changing is a big deal
If you own a Dacia Sandero or are considering purchasing one, you’re probably interested in learning about its maintenance, scheduled services, and the approximate costs over the first few years. Below, we provide all the details you need to keep your Dacia Sandero in top condition.
Dacia Sandero Servicing
Dacia recommends yearly servicing for the Sandero. Each service covers something slightly different, but every one includes a health check to make sure things like the brakes, lights and fluid levels are all in order.
Approximate Costs of Each Service
- First service: £180
- Second service: £235
- Third service: £275
- Fourth service: £435
- Fifth service: £360

First Service
The first service should be carried out after one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is a basic service, known by Dacia as an A Service, and includes a cabin filter change and a general checkover.
Second Service
The second service for the Dacia Sandero is due after two years or 20,000 miles, and is more comprehensive than the first. Called the B Service, it includes an engine oil and filter change, as well as checks on the computer and battery and the bodywork for corrosion.
Third Service
The third service is carried out at three years or 30,000 miles, and entails the basic A Service as well as a brake fluid change.
Fourth Service
The fourth service occurs after four years or 40,000 miles. At this stage your Sandero will need a B Service, a new air filter and new spark plugs.
Fifth service
After five years or 50,000 miles, your Sandero will need an A Service, as well as fresh coolant.
Dacia Sandero timing belt change

Another service item to consider is the timing belt. This is a very important part of your engine which can cause serious damage if it breaks, so Dacia recommends changing it, along with the water pump, after five years or 70,000 miles.
The cost of this job varies depending on the dealer you go to, but expect to pay around £300-£400 to get it done.
Dacia Sandero Maintenance Packs

Dacia offers maintenance plans that include several services with fixed prices. For £9.99 per month you can have your servicing covered for three years or 30,000 miles. That works out at around £360 all-in, more than £300 cheaper than paying for that maintenance separately.
To get four years or 48,000 miles worth of servicing you’ll pay £20.99 per month, which works out around £100 cheaper overall. This also includes two years of Dacia’s Zen warranty.
Dacia Zen warranty

If you keep your Dacia serviced within the approved dealer network you can get up to seven years of warranty cover. Once the standard warranty runs out after three years, you can extend it by 12 months each time you get the car serviced.
Is it Expensive to Maintain a Dacia Sandero?
Overall, maintaining a Dacia Sandero is quite economical compared to other vehicles in its class. Dacia has designed this model to be affordable, and its periodic services generally won’t break the bank. This makes the Sandero an ideal option for those seeking a reliable car with low maintenance costs.
