Lease a Geely Starray from less than £230 per month*

You can lease an Pro version of the Geely Starray from £227.88 per month, with an initial payment of £3,134.55, on a 36-month, 8,000-mile-per-year deal through Carwow. With this, you get a 262hp 1.5-litre hybrid engine, and the following features:

  • Apple CarPlay
  • Five-star safety rating
  • Heated leather seats
  • 360 degree topview surround parking vision
  • Eight-year warranty
  • 18-inch alloy wheels

Why consider the Geely Starray?

I’d recommend the Geely Starray because it’s really great value, has lots of room inside and has a generous equipment list. Its interior design is based around a large 15.4-inch touchscreen, and there are precious few physical buttons, so it’s about as minimalist as most of the alternatives.

It’s also hugely spacious, with room for a six-foot adult to stretch out in the rear seats and a large boot of up to 528 litres.

The Starray is comfortable enough around lumpy town roads thanks to soft suspension, and it’s also quite relaxed on the motorway. But it leans a lot in the bends if you take it too hard on a twisty road, and when the engine kicks in it can be very noisy.

Alternatives to the Geely Starray

Here are three other Chinese alternatives to consider:

  • Omoda 7: Lots of standard kit but boot is a bit shallow.
  • BYD Sealion 5: Plenty of room in the back seats but the styling is anonymous.
  • Chery Tiggo 7: Quiet and refined on the motorway but not much fun on a twisty road.
