The Platinum Edition gets 22-inch AMG alloys, an electric panoramic glass sunroof, a fantastic Burmester surround sound system, and electric front seats that have heat, ventilation and memory functions. Oh, you also get a fire-breathing 612hp 4.0-litre V8 as standard.

£146,350As well as getting the most powerful of all AMG’s V8 turbo engines, the Night Edition version of the GLE SUV gets adaptive air suspension with AMG’s Active Ride Control system. There’s also 22-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in matte black, high-performance composite carbon-ceramic brakes, and a limited slip differential on the rear axle.
