Car changing is a big deal
If your heart’s set on an SUV, this small yet spacious car should definitely be on your shortlist.
If the sci-fi show Doctor Who has taught us anything, it’s that the Tardis isn’t just a cramped blue phone box. The same can be said for this small SUV, which is compact on the outside but surprisingly spacious on the inside.
The Volkswagen T-Cross shares its platform with the VW Polo hatchback and isn’t much larger in footprint. However, inside, you’ll find plenty of room thanks to its squared-off design. It’s one of the roomiest cars in its class, offering ample space for six-footers in the back, especially with the clever sliding rear seat that lets you adjust legroom and luggage space.
Volkswagen T-Cross deals: save over £4,300*
The Volkswagen T-Cross usually starts from £25,115, but through Carwow you can get it for £23,690. This makes it around £6,000 cheaper than a Peugeot 2008.
The biggest savings can be found on the R-Line model, with £4,376 off at the time of writing. With this, you get 18-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a customisable 10.25-inch digital display replacing traditional dials. For safety, R-Line models come equipped with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control as standard.
Compared to lots of other small SUVs, you won’t find a hybrid option or a fully-electric version of the Volkswagen T-Cross. Three engines are available: a 1.0-litre petrol with 95hp or 110hp, or a more powerful 1.5-litre with 150hp.
