That said, the X-Trail does a great job of driving around cities thanks to its all-round visibility that takes the strain off of manoeuvring in tight spaces and its soft suspension that smooths out bad roads. It’s comfortable on the motorway too, but the engines do scream at you a little when you put your foot down.
