Carwow vs Cazoo

Wondering whether Carwow or Cazoo is right for you? Here’s a simple guide to how the two car platforms compare.

Looking to buy a car online? Both Carwow and Cazoo are designed to make the process easier. While each platform lets you sell your current car and search for your next one, Cazoo specialises in used cars only.

Here’s how Carwow and Cazoo compare, from buying and selling services to the features that set them apart.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

What is Carwow?

Carwow is an online platform that helps you buy, sell, or lease a car in a simpler, more transparent way. Instead of negotiating with individual dealers, you can compare offers from multiple trusted dealers in one place – so they compete to give you their best price on the same car.

Founded in 2010 as a car review website, Carwow now offers a range of services including new and used car listings, instant car valuations, a “Sell My Car” service where dealers bid for your vehicle, and leasing deals if you prefer not to buy outright.

What is Cazoo?

Cazoo is an online used car marketplace that connects buyers with trusted dealerships, making it easier to browse and buy used cars online.

Originally launched in 2018 as a direct-to-consumer car retailer, the brand has since been relaunched as a marketplace after being acquired by Motors following a restructuring in 2024. Today, it helps customers find used cars from a wide network of dealers in one convenient place.

How is Cazoo different from Carwow?

Cazoo and Carwow are both UK-based online marketplace platforms, but they work in very different ways.

Cazoo is a used car marketplace where you can browse and compare hundreds of thousands of used cars listed by independent dealerships across the UK.

Carwow, on the other hand, is a comparison platform for new and leased cars as well as used ones. For new cars, you build your ideal specification and franchised dealers compete by offering their best price. For used cars, Carwow runs a selling service where dealers bid to buy your car after you share its details.

The difference also shows in how you sell a car: with Cazoo, you can browse listings and may part-exchange your car through a dealership. Carwow, meanwhile, lets multiple dealers compete to give you a cash offer for your car.

In short, Cazoo is a place to search and compare used cars, while Carwow is designed to help you through the whole car-changing process, whether that be for new, used, or leased cars.

Fees for selling* It’s completely free to sell your car. Cazoo doesn’t charge dealer, admin, or delivery fees, but some dealers you buy from through the platform may add extra costs such as administration, processing, or documentation fees to cover paperwork. These typically range from £50 to £500. While some dealers offer free delivery, others may charge a transport fee, usually around £50 to £150 for national delivery.
Fees for leasing* We have a £295 arrangement fee if you lease a car through Carwow Leasey. These don’t apply to Cazoo as it’s strictly a used and pre-owned car marketplace, where you can buy a used car outright or on car finance.

Other alternatives

There are several websites available for selling a car. For example, Motorway allows users to sell their car to a network of over 8,000 verified dealers. WeBuyAnyCar provides an online valuation, after which sellers book an appointment at a local branch for an inspection and receive a final offer.

*The fees are correct as of 26 May 2026 and can be subject to change. The fees for selling comparison does not include any fees related to leasing and finance.
