About Abarth

Abarth - named after the Austrian-born tuner Carlo Abarth, who first started to tune and tweak Fiats for racing in the 1950s — has become Fiat’s high-performance brand. Think of it as AMG, but for dinky little Italian cars. 
The Abarth Scorpion badge has, down the years, adorned many brilliant high performance cars, from the rallying Fiat 131s of the 1970s through to the hot Fiat 500s of the 2000 and 2010s, which startled with their speedy performance and noisy exhausts.

Now, Abarth is turning to electric cars, and has already proven that even a silent EV can be fun by fitting go-faster suspension and electric motors to the likes of the Fiat 500e and Fiat 600e, creating hot Abarth versions of both. Sure, you take a hit in terms of one-charge range, but who cares when you’re having this much fun?

Why lease an Abarth?

Abarths are all about having fun — you don’t buy one because it’s an affordable hatchback nor a sensible crossover. Having that famous Scorpion badge is all about having an affordable hatchback or a sensible crossover, but one which has a bit of Italian exuberance about it — a mini Ferrari if you will.

Leasing an Abarth makes great sense, especially with the brand’s new focus on electric power — EV second hand values are still difficult to predict, and a lease can keep the worst ravages of depreciation away from you, especially given that at the end of the lease, you don’t actually own the car; you just hand it back.

Leasing also keeps most of your motoring expenses to one monthly repayment which is easier to budget around, and if you get a lease with built-in servicing and maintenance cover, that should give you peace of mind when driving an Abarth, a brand which doesn’t have the greatest reputation for reliability.
