Car changing is a big deal
Finding a pickup truck which is compact, robust, and affordable is a tall order in today’s market. That is exactly why we have been imagining what a Dacia pickup truck would be like.
We’ve called it the Dacia Brisk, and it’s currently just a personal vision rather than a real production car. We reckon it could be a sales smash if Dacia were to make it though, offering no-nonsense practicality at a bargain price.
Rugged design meets practicality
The core idea behind the Dacia Brisk is to take the proven strengths of the Duster and evolve them into a highly versatile pickup format.

We imagine a Dacia pickup truck would have the same face as the Duster and Bigster SUVs, but with rugged pickup elements like a high-riding suspension and a large loading bed designed for serious work.
For those who need a vehicle that can handle more than just a paved road, the Brisk would be equipped with chunky off-road tyres and robust bumpers so it can shrug off the worst the countryside can throw at it.

Comfort and capability without the cost
Even though the Brisk is envisioned as a practical workhorse, it wouldn’t skimp on the modern essentials that make daily driving a bit easier. The interior would be equipped with a proper infotainment system taken from the Bigster, air conditioning, a reversing camera and a solid suite of safety features.

It would also need an all-wheel drive system to tackle tough terrain, and thankfully Dacia already has this technology ready to go. The Duster is available with four-wheel drive, and we’ve already seen that car almost beat a Toyota Land Cruiser when the going gets tough.
The most compelling part of this concept, however, is the price. If Dacia was to build the Brisk using parts from existing models, we estimate an entry-level price of around £25,000. That would make it around £15,000 cheaper than a Toyota Hilux.
Why this would be a win for Dacia
Affordable pickup trucks are becoming few and far between in 2026, so creating the Brisk would allow Dacia to fill the gap in the market left by the Nissan Navara and Fiat Fullback. It’s just a pipe dream for now though – Dacia has no plans to build a pickup truck in the near future.
