Carwow’s latest data reveals the 10 most popular Chinese cars of February 2026, from sleek SUVs to compact city cars that buyers can’t seem to get enough of.

Chinese cars are steadily making their mark on UK roads, offering a mix of style, tech, and value that’s hard to ignore. So far this year, the Jaecoo 7 and BYD Seal U have already climbed into the top 10 best-selling cars. With their low upfront cost and generous list of standard features, it’s easy to see why drivers are choosing them.

We’ve crunched the numbers to see which Chinese cars were the most popular among visitors to Carwow in February.

The list below is the share of all offers requested by people who completed configurations through our platform.

1. Jaecoo 5 – 18.02%

Topping the list is the Jaecoo 5, which accounts for more than 18% of Chinese-brand cars people were most interested in. This petrol SUV is spacious, practical, and backed by a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty. However, we find its petrol engine underwhelming, and its rear seats are smaller than many alternatives.

2. Omoda 5 – 14.90%

Taking second place is the Omoda 5, with over 14.9% of offers in February. This SUV offers a powerful engine, plenty of equipment, and strong value for money. However, in our tests we find the rear seats cramped, fuel economy poor, and the tech and infotainment a step behind some alternatives.

3. Jaecoo 7 – 9.13%

Rounding out the podium is the Jaecoo 7, which made up over 9% of interest among Carwow browsers last month and ranks among the UK’s top-selling SUVs year-to-date, according to SMMT data. This SUV comes with plenty of standard equipment, is easy to drive in town, and offers a posh interior. However, it isn’t as refined as some alternatives and feels firm over bumps.

4. BYD Seal U – 5.18%

Up next is the first BYD model. The BYD Seal U is a budget-friendly hybrid SUV with a spacious cabin, an efficient 1.5-litre hybrid engine, and a crisp 15.6-inch touchscreen. It also delivers strong value compared with pricier alternatives such as the Volkswagen Tiguan. That said, we find the drive unsettled, cabin materials cheap, and styling fairly generic.

5. MG HS – 4.79%

We’re halfway through the list, and this is the first MG to appear. This family-sized SUV features a stylish interior, plenty of standard kit, and a choice of petrol, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid engines. The PHEV version offers an impressive 75-mile electric range, along with generous rear-seat and boot space. However, the infotainment can be fiddly, and it’s not the most exciting SUV to drive.

6. MG S5 EV – 4.76%

Another MG makes the list, and this time it’s an electric SUV. The MG S5 EV features the brand’s poshest-feeling interior to date, with roomy rear seats and a 453-litre boot. While it offers an impressive combination of space and equipment for the money, we find the S5 EV looks rather bland and has a firm suspension.

7. BYD Dolphin Surf – 4.61%

It’s about time a hatchback shakes up this SUV-heavy list. The BYD Dolphin Surf packs plenty of equipment and surprising interior space into a small electric car. It offers up to 200 miles of range and comes well-equipped even in the base trim. However, it isn’t very comfortable, and interior plastics feel cheap.

8. BYD Sealion 5 – 4.04%

The final BYD model on this list accounts for over 4% of offers viewed, according to the Carwow data. The BYD Sealion 5 plug-in hybrid is the smaller sibling to the BYD Seal U and offers low running costs, plenty of space, and impressive standard equipment. Its styling is fairly anonymous, but it delivers excellent value for money.

9. Jaecoo E5 – 3.69%

If you’re looking for an affordable electric SUV, the Jaecoo E5 offers a claimed range of up to 248 miles, plenty of cabin storage, and a responsive infotainment system, delivering strong value for money. However, if you regularly drive long distances, its relatively slow charging speeds can be a drawback.

10. Geely EX5 – 3.35%

Wrapping up the top 10 is the Geely EX5, which accounted for over 3.3% of the most popular Chinese car offers on Carwow last month. This electric SUV gets up to 267 miles of range, spacious rear seats, and the top-spec model comes well-equipped for relatively little money. However, it has a smaller boot than many alternatives, and the drive feels firm over bumps.
