Lease this fun-to-drive BYD from £322 per month

Car changing is a big deal
This electric car is well-equipped and quick on the road – just a couple of great reasons to consider leasing it.
The Chinese EV brand BYD is taking the UK by storm, and its new electric saloon shows a level of maturity and capability you’d expect from a long-established European manufacturer.
I’m talking, of course, about the BYD Seal. Shaped similarly to the Tesla Model 3 – with its low nose and rounded roofline – it has intricate headlight detailing and a sleek rear lightbar.

Inside, it’s as if BYD’s designers saw Tesla’s minimalist style and said, “no, thank you.” The dashboard is distinctive, featuring seamless air vents across full-width panels, quilted leather seats, and a central panel of tactile switchgear. It all feels quite premium, if a bit unconventional.
Up front, drivers and passengers of all sizes will find the plush, quilted seats comfortable, with good storage for smaller items. Rear legroom is decent too, though headroom is tighter due to the expansive panoramic glass roof.
BYD Seal deals: lease one from £322 per month*
You can lease a BYD Seal from as little as £322 per month, with an initial payment of £4,122.06, through Carwow. This deal can be found on the Design model. With this, you get quilted leather seats, a 12-speaker audio setup and a massive 15.6-inch infotainment screen that can swivel between portrait and landscape at the touch of a button. It also has a range of up to 354 miles.

The Seal is impressive to drive, with even the base rear-wheel drive model feeling quick. The 530hp Excellence version is seriously fast. Sharp steering and well-balanced suspension make it fun on twisty roads. A range of up to 354 miles adds appeal, though it’s a shame there’s no super-long range version to challenge the best Tesla Model 3.

BYD Seal alternatives
Here are some other electric cars to consider:
Tesla Model 3: Has a massive range of up to 436 miles but controls can be a little fiddly.
Hyundai Ioniq 6: Not as practical as alternatives but is great to drive.
Polestar 2: Great styling throughout but rear view is a bit narrow.
