Better still, it has just been crowned Car of the Year at our sister publication Auto Express’s 2026 New Car Awards. Save over £7,500 on a new Nissan Leaf*

The Nissan Leaf usually starts at £35,999, but through Carwow you can save up to £7,518 at the time of writing. This offer applies to the entry-level Engage version, which comes with a range of up to 386 miles on a single charge and features such as:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
  • Pair of 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard
  • Black interior with fabric upholstery
  • Heat pump as standard
  • 18-inch alloy wheels

Why consider the Nissan Leaf?

I’d recommend the Nissan Leaf because it’s a stylish, comfortable electric SUV that’s a huge step up from the old Leaf. It has a smart, well-built interior with plenty of storage, and higher-spec models get a slick Google-powered infotainment system. It’s also smooth and relaxing to drive, especially around town.

The Leaf’s got pretty decent range too, with up to 375 miles on a single charge from the larger battery, making it a practical choice for everyday driving and long trips alike. It’s also comfortable on the motorway, although there’s a little more wind noise than some alternatives.

The only real compromises are in the back, where passenger space is a bit tight, and the boot isn’t the biggest in its class. Even so, if you value comfort, style and impressive efficiency over outright practicality, the Nissan Leaf is an excellent all-round electric car.

Alternatives to the Nissan Leaf

Not convinced? Here are some other electric options to consider:

  • Citroen e-C4: Comfortable over bumps but not much fun to drive.
  • Kia EV4: Miles of rear legroom but cabin storage isn’t the best.
  • Renault Scenic E-Tech: Roomy cabin and a big boot but the interior feels cheap in places.
