If you think premium electric SUVs should combine the latest tech with massive cabin space and a high-quality interior, then we’ve got the car for you. The ultra-Scandinavian Polestar 4 is big and practical, yet it’s also stylish and cool, as well as eco-friendly. And with a high range and low monthly costs, it should definitely be on your shortlist.

Lease a Polestar 4 from less than £310 a month*

You can lease a Polestar 4 from £309.97 per month (initial payment: £4,073.64) on a 24-month, 5,000-miles-per-year deal through Carwow. That pays for the single-motor Prime version, and you get plenty thrown in as standard. The Google-powered touchscreen, head-up display and rear-view camera are all included, along with smartphone integration technology, heated front and rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Why should you consider the Polestar 4?

The Polestar 4 is every bit as clean and modern as it looks, with that cool exterior covering a roomy and well-appointed interior, as well as lots of brilliant tech. The touchscreens, which use similar software to Android phones, are intuitive and smart, while the cabin is bolted together with all the solidity you expect from a company spawned from Volvo.

The Polestar 4 has 526 litres of boot capacity.

Under the floor, the Polestar 4 gets a 100kWh battery pack that can drive either one or two electric motors, depending on the version you choose. While the single-motor version is slightly more efficient, promising 385 miles of range, it doesn’t have the performance of the more powerful 536hp dual-motor version, which offers supercar pace and still claims to cover 367 miles between charges.

Unsurprisingly, given its immense range, the Polestar 4 is great on a long drive, soaking up the bumps neatly and zipping along the road quietly. It handles more ably than you might expect from a big SUV, too, but the lack of a rear window means rear visibility is a bit of an issue around town.

Polestar 4 alternatives

Still not convinced? Here are some other options for you to consider:

  • BMW iX: Comfortable, roomy and rather lavish inside, but the looks will put some people off.
  • Audi Q6 e-tron: The Audi is spacious and well built, but some of the technology is irritating.
  • Porsche Macan Electric: Porsche’s first electric SUV is great to drive and well made, but lacking some kit.
