What our customer say

About Toyota

Toyota has risen from making weaving looms in the 1800s, to being one of the biggest, most profitable, and most influential car makers on the planet today. It’s the brand that’s made the world’s best-selling car ever (the Corolla, with 50-million sales and counting) and which has also dominated at the Le Mans 24hrs race, put a hybrid onto so many driveways, and which showed other car makers how to build a reliable car.

In the past, Toyotas tended to be a bit dull and bland, but that all changed through the 2010s with the chairmanship of Akio Toyoda, great-grandson of the company’s founder, and a huge car enthusiast. Fast and fun Toyotas such as the GR Yaris, new Supra, and GR86 Coupe were built on his watch, while even more humble stuff such as the Corolla and the RAV4 became more enjoyable to drive, not to mention better looking. Even the Prius now looks so good, you could (almost) mistake it for a Ferrari…

Toyota is, these days, all about hybrid power with almost no petrol-only cars left in its lineup, and only the Hilux pickup Land Cruiser 4x4 still using diesel engines. The electric range is growing too, having started with the (at first underwhelming) BZ4x, and which now includes the bigger BZ4x Touring, the C-HR+, and the Urban Cruiser.

Why lease a Toyota?

Toyota has long since been a brand that’s all about reliability. Those early Corollas and Carinas were starting on the first turn of the key back in the 1970s and 1980s when Austin and Ford owners were still struggling with iffy distributors and knackered ignitions. Nothing much has changed, really — others have caught up in the reliability race, but few cars today are as solidly-built as a Toyota, to the point where the company offers its electric models with a ten-year warranty on the batteries.

Leasing makes lots of sense when it comes to Toyota, especially given that many of its models are plug-in hybrids and there are increasing numbers of all-electric cars in the lineup — leasing helps to protect you against the ravages of depreciation in a car market that’s still a touch unsure about both technologies.

Equally, the solid reliability of a Toyota means that once you’ve budgeted for your single monthly payment, you won’t have much else to worry about in terms of costs.

Getting out of any lease — Toyota or otherwise — early is tricky, and there can be significant penalty payments to make. Check the fine details of your leasing contract before making any decisions.
