See why this hybrid SUV with a striking design and smart cabin should be on your radar, with over £8,100 off on if you buy one new through Carwow.

This electric car was the first model launched in the UK by Chinese car manufacturer BYD, a brand that’s been making waves across the nation. Indeed, the BYD Atto 3 is an all-electric SUV that’s comfortable to drive and has a nicely built interior. And what’s more, you could grab one with over £8,100 off if you buy one new through Carwow. But why should you consider this? Read on to find out more.

Remember, you can buy a brand new or used car right here on Carwow. And you can also sell your car, too. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Save over £8,100 on a BYD Atto 3*

The Atto 3 gives you a 440-litre boot.

The BYD Atto 3 usually starts at £37,705, but you can get it through Carwow from £34,746. The biggest savings are on the Comfort version, with £8,119 off at the time of writing. With this, you get 11kW AC charging instead of 7kW, a rotating 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a 5.0-inch driver’s display, adaptive cruise control, a heat pump for climate control and a vegan leather interior. I believe this is a good deal as not many alternatives offer 11kW AC charging from its base version.

Why consider the BYD Atto 3?

The BYD Atto 3 keeps things simple outside, with inoffensive SUV styling, but the cabin is a complete contrast. Inside you’ll find bold shapes, dual-tone trim, and quirky touches such as guitar-string door pockets and a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen, giving it far more character than most rivals.

It’s roomy too, with good storage up front, decent rear legroom, and a 440-litre boot. The seats are comfortable, though taller passengers may find rear headroom tight, and some cabin materials feel a little cheap.

A 60kWh battery delivers up to 260 miles on paper, but closer to 200 in reality. Around town it rides smoothly and benefits from excellent visibility and 360-degree cameras, though it’s noisy on the motorway and not as composed on twisty roads as something like a Ford Puma Gen-E.

Alternatives to the BYD Atto 3

Prefer something else? Here are three other electric options:

  • Kia EV3: Up to 375-mile range but a heat pump is only available on the most expensive model.
  • Skoda Elroq: Great all rounder but it has scratchy plastics inside.
  • MG S5 EV: Roomy back seats and boot but has dull styling.
