A tiny house on wheels – everything you need and more
This camper conversion has all the creature comforts you need for a week away. You get a double bed, a full kitchen with a fridge, a toilet, shower and even a washing machine. It’s also fitted with air conditioning and a nice big TV so you can enjoy your favourite shows in comfort.
On the “ground floor”, you get a kitchen, a seating area, and a bathroom, making it feel almost like travelling in a small flat. But the icing on the cake comes upstairs.
The second storey features a roof terrace with a penthouse vibe. If the weather at the campsite doesn’t play ball, you can even transform the open terrace into a conservatory.
The top level of the camper offers a cosy seating area and a second kitchenette for cooking al-fresco. The amount of space in this converted lorry naturally far exceeds that of a standard camper, but how much would such a conversion cost?
The price is surprisingly affordable
The answer is: surprisingly cheap. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, conversions like this are offered at a price of just 58,000 USD (around £43,500), depending on the number of units you order. However, before you start thinking about importing one, you should consider that the cost of shipping such a huge vehicle here would likely cost a fortune, and you’d need to pay import taxes on top.
If a European manufacturer were to develop a similar model based on a lorry we can buy in the UK, it would certainly be a tempting proposition for touring the continent. That said, holidays around the tight country lanes of the UK may be a bit more tricky.
