Ford has just unveiled a new electric MPV called the E-Tourneo Courier. It’s an alternative to cars such as the Peugeot e-Rifter and Citroen e-Berlingo, and it goes on sale in late 2024.
Don’t want to wait that long? A petrol version will be going on sale by the end of 2023 with a 1.0-litre turbocharged three cylinder engine.
New Ford E-Tourneo Courier design
It’s hard to hide the van-based roots of the new Ford E-Tourneo Courier. It’s a boxy-looking MPV but there are some funky features around the place.
There’s a full-width light bar across the bonnet, and the blanked-off grille has an upright shape to make the car look a bit more rugged.
There are no fake vents here, just some black plastic cladding to keep things looking tough and durable The two-tone paint livens things up nicely as well.
The E-Tourneo Courier has a completely flat tailgate and a squared-off rear end. It may not be the most sporty-looking family car out there, but the boxy shape should help maximise interior space.

The cabin of the new Ford E-Tourneo Courier has been designed to be as practical as possible, and there’s plenty of technology on offer.
You get a 12.0-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a digital driver’s display. A wireless charging pad for your phone is also available.
As you’d expect in a car like this, you have a big boot which can be further expanded by folding the rear seats, and there’s a 44-litre storage area under the bonnet which is perfect for keeping your charging cables.
New Ford E-Tourneo Courier motors and engine
The new Ford E-Tourneo Courier comes with a 136hp electric motor powering the front wheels, however the range hasn’t been confirmed yet.
You will be able to charge it from 10-80% in just 35 minutes from a 100kW DC fast charger, or you can add 54 miles of range in 10 minutes.
The Tourneo Courier will also be available with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, similar to the one found in the Ford Fiesta. It’s a three-cylinder turbocharged unit putting out 125hp, and it’s available with a manual gearbox.

You’ll have to wait until the end of 2024 if you want to get your hands on a new Ford E-Tourneo Courier. Alternatively, if the petrol engine seems more up your alley, that car will be available to order from the Summer.
