Car changing is a big deal
Find out why you should check out the Jaecoo 7 if you’re after a posh family SUV with loads of kit and a tempting price tag.
New Chinese brands are popping up left, right and centre in recent months, and Jaecoo is one of them. It only offers one car in the UK for now, the Jaecoo 7,a family SUV which is around the same size as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage.

It’s a handsome beast, with elements of Range Rover in the boxy design, and it comes loaded with standard equipment at a bargain price. Through Carwow you can save even more money on your new Jaecoo 7.
Jaecoo 7 deals: save over £3,000*

The Jaecoo 7 starts from just over £30,000, however through Carwow you can grab one for just £27,600 at the time of writing. The biggest savings can be found on the top-spec plug-in hybrid model, bringing that car down from £35,000 to £32,000, making it cheaper than a basic Volkswagen Tiguan.
If you prefer to lease your car, you can get a Jaecoo 7 through Carwow for £275 per month over 48 months with a £2,829 deposit and a generous mileage limit of 8,000 per year. This is for the basic petrol model, but for £308 per month you can have the flagship PHEV version with a deposit of just over £3,000.
What our expert reviews team says about the Jaecoo 7
What’s good | What’s not so good |
Well-made interior | Firm over bumps |
Loads of standard equipment | Base petrol engine is noisy |
Easy to drive in town | So-so practicality |
The Jaecoo 7’s main selling point is its massive kit list. All cars come with adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, a massive portrait touchscreen and 19-inch alloy wheels.

It’s not the best SUV to drive thanks to vague steering and wallowy suspension, but it’s easy enough to thread through town and the interior is really nice as well. For the money, there are few SUVs which offer this blend of style and standard equipment.
Jaecoo 7 alternatives
Not sold on the Jaecoo 7? Here are three alternatives you could consider instead.
Volkswagen Tiguan

Spacious, high quality and much nicer to drive than the Jaecoo, but it’s also quite a bit more expensive.
Kia Sportage

Well-equipped and a great seven-year warranty, although the Jaecoo 7 offers the same length of coverage.
Citroen C5 Aircross

Super-cheap and supremely comfortable over bumps, but the interior isn’t as nice as the Jaecoo’s.
