This is the Lexus LF-ZL, and it’s a look ahead at what a future electric SUV from the brand could look like. It not only looks crazy, it’s packed with clever tech and a posh-looking interior.

New Lexus LF-ZL design

Lexus has been coming out with some wild-looking concept cars recently, and the new LF-ZL is no exception.

There are plenty of bold-looking creases across the front bumper, with some angular LED daytime running lights giving it the trademark Lexus face. There are also some air intakes neatly integrated into the lower bumper, possibly to smooth airflow over the car.

It has a pretty smooth side profile which should help it slip through the air more easily, making this EV more efficient. The standout feature here though is the sliding rear door providing unhindered access into the lounge-like interior.

New Lexus LF-ZL interior and infotainment

Those sitting in the back of the LF-ZL are treated to reclining seats with a leg rest, and the full-length glass roof provides passengers with plenty of light, helping add to the sense of space.

Lexus hasn’t forgotten about those sitting in the front though, as the LF-ZL has plenty of tech on board to help make your journey more relaxing. A variety of sensors can detect when the driver points at a place or object and provide information and voice guidance, for example.

The dashboard of the LF-ZL is pretty driver-focussed, with two screens flanking the rectangular steering yoke which provide controls for your driving modes and multimedia. TO make sure the front passenger doesn’t feel left out, there are also two more massive screens spanning almost the entire width of the car.

New Lexus LF-ZL batteries

While there are no exact details on battery specs for this concept car, it’s likely to make use of some new tech coming from Toyota in 2026. The brand is working on a new lithium ion battery which could provide up to 500 miles of range and charge from 10-80% in 20 minutes or less.

Can I buy a new Lexus LF-ZL?

In its current form, probably not. This is just a concept car which provides a glimpse into what future Lexus EVs could look like. You may see a production car which uses technology from the LF-ZL reach the streets after 2026.
