Which used cars are the most sought after? New Carwow data reveals the 10 second-hand models that attracted the most enquiries in the first half of 2026.

The first half of 2026 is behind us, and we now have new data revealing which used cars have captured buyers’ attention so far this year. Based on enquiry data from Carwow, we’ve rounded up the second-hand models that Carwow users were most excited about over the past six months.

There are plenty of familiar favourites in the mix, proving that trusted family cars and premium badges remain as popular as ever. So, which used cars made the top 10? Read on to find out.

Remember, you can buy a used car right here on Carwow. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

1. Kia Sportage – +34%

Claiming the top spot in the first half of 2026 is the Kia Sportage. This SUV has a premium-feeling cabin as well as roomy back seats and a large boot of up to 591 litres. But while it’s a very well-equipped family car, it’s pretty bland to drive and is not as efficient as some alternatives.

2. Nissan Qashqai – +20%

The Nissan Qashqai has long been one of the UK’s favourite family cars, and it’s easy to see why. It looks smart, is comfortable, and the hybrid option is particularly impressive. Inside, you’ll find a practical, well-built cabin with plenty of standard equipment. However, the boot isn’t as spacious as some alternatives, and it’s not the most fun to drive.

3. Hyundai Tucson – +15%

Taking the final spot on the podium is an SUV that nails everything you’d want in a family car. The Hyundai Tucson is impressively practical, with a generous 620-litre boot and a stylish interior. You also have a range of petrol and hybrid engines to choose from too. That said, its bold exterior styling won’t be to everyone’s taste, and it’s not the most fun to drive.

4. Range Rover Evoque – +37%

It may have missed out on the top three, but used Range Rover Evoque’s are still pretty popular among Carwow users. This posh SUV not only has generous luggage space, it’s good to drive and beats alternatives off-road too. However, it’s got a pretty uninteresting interior and the engines are all quite thirsty – apart from the plug-in hybrid.

5. Volvo XC40 – -3%

Next up we have the Volvo XC40. This may be one of the older SUVs on the market, but it’s very stylish, with plenty of room for passengers, and is comfortable on the road. Its interior design is ageing, though, and it also has a fiddly infotainment system.

6. Mercedes A-Class – +28%

Now we come to the first non-SUV in the top 10: the Mercedes A-Class. This hatchback doesn’t just have a cool interior design and decent amount of storage, it’s easy and relaxing to drive too. However, we do feel the boot could be bigger and you’ll find poor build quality and materials inside.

7. BMW 3 Series – -5%

The BMW 3 Series may be something of a predictable choice, but it hasn’t stopped Carwow users from enquiring about used models. It’s a brilliant all-rounder that’s the best-in-class to drive, while the Touring estate version is very practical. Opt for a plug-in hybrid version, though, and you’ll lose lots of boot space. Plus, unfortunately, it no longer has physical buttons for air-con like previous models did.

8. Volkswagen Golf – -13%

Also making the top 10 is the Volkswagen Golf. This sensible hatchback has got a great choice of efficient engines and is comfortable over bumps. However, it’s got pretty dull styling and it’s only average roomy.

9. BMW 1 Series – +16%

Another BMW has entered our list, but this time in the shape of the smaller 1 Series. This posh hatchback is great fun to drive. Not to mention it has a high-quality interior and top-notch tech inside too. That said, it’s not as comfortable as alternatives and the rear seats aren’t the most spacious.

10. Audi A3 Sportback– +5%

Last but not least, we have the Audi A3. This premium choice of hatchback has a striking design in and out, excellent build quality, and is well-equipped. You’d find, however, that other hatchbacks are more practical, and it’s not the most fun on a twisty road.
