Car changing is a big deal

The free, easy way to change your car online

Mat Watson says the MG4 is fun to drive, offers a good range and has an easy-to-use interior. And thanks to Carwow discounts, you can get the top-spec version for less than £30,000.

I think the MG4 EV is great value for money, with a good range and an interior that’s easy to use. What’s more, there are some decent deals available right now.

Here are three reasons why I think you should buy this car, along with three things that annoy me.

Remember, you can buy a brand new car right here on Carwow. We’re here to help you through every step of your car-changing journey.

Three good things about the MG4 EV

1. Loads of kit for your money

The MG4 comes with plenty of standard equipment, including heated seats, wireless smartphone connectivity and a 360-degree camera. Add a range of up to 338 miles in the top-spec version, and it’s impressive value for money.

2. The interior is easy to use

Its cabin is a big improvement over older MG models. The infotainment system is straightforward to use, and the interior has a clean, modern design that makes living with the car easier.

3. It’s fun to drive

I think this electric hatchback is genuinely enjoyable behind the wheel. It handles well, feels agile through corners and has plenty of performance for everyday driving.

MG4 EV deals

The MG4 EV starts from £30,500, but right now though Carwow you can get one for as little as £26,300. However, the best deal is on the top-spec Premium Extended Range.

It has up to 338 miles of range and comes with features such as a 12.8-inch infotainment display, a 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, and heated front seats.

It usually costs around £33,500, but through Carwow you can currently save £4,300 on this particular model.

Three annoying things about the MG4 EV

1. The boot isn’t particularly big

The MG4’s 388-litre boot is perfectly usable, but it’s not the most spacious in its class. If you regularly carry lots of luggage or have a family to think about, some alternatives such as the Nissan Leaf offer more practicality.

2. It’s noisy on the motorway

While this small car is enjoyable around town and on twisty roads, it’s less relaxing on motorways. There’s noticeable road and wind noise at higher speeds, which takes away from the otherwise comfortable driving experience.

3. MG’s reliability reputation isn’t the best

MG hasn’t always performed particularly well in owner satisfaction surveys, including Driver Power. That’s worth bearing in mind if you’re planning to keep the car for several years, although survey results don’t necessarily predict how reliable an individual MG4 will be.
