Ssangyong Korando Red – what you need to know
Ssangyong has added a limited Red edition of the Korando SUV to its range.
South Korean carmaker Ssangyong has added a limited ‘Red’ edition of the Korando SUV to its range. The car is based on the already well equipped £22,495 ELX Auto but adds choice optional extras for an extra £1,000. Weirdly, despite being called Red, it’s only offered in black or grey exterior colours with the red saved for the interior.
Your £23,495 now buys you full red leather upholstery, a ventilated and power adjustable driver’s seat, a powered sunroof and xenon headlights. A six-speed automatic gearbox is included as standard on the Red.

The Korando ELX Red is powered by a newly developed 2.2-litre diesel engine that Ssangyong says is more powerful and has lower CO2 emissions than the previous 2.0-litre engine it replaces. The new unit makes 175hp – a rough 20hp increase compared to the old unit.
The Korando ELX – on which the Red is based – is already well equipped getting four-wheel drive, heated front and rear seats, an infotainment system with sat nav, a rear-view camera and 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.
The special edition model is priced at just £23,495 and is available to order now.
