Skoda Hybrid range: current models

Skoda’s hybrid lineup right now revolves around the Kodiaq and Superb, but the tech will roll out to other models soon.

Skoda Kodiaq

Skoda’s Kodiaq is a hugely useful family SUV, with a roomy cabin, seats for seven, and lots of the usual thoughtful Skoda practical touches such as built-in umbrellas and handy boot dividers. The plug-in hybrid system is good too, with excellent EV range and decent long-run economy. There’s just one problem — you can’t have seven seats if you’re buying the PHEV, which is a limiting factor.

Skoda Superb Estate

The Superb Estate doesn’t force you into the same seven-seats or hybrid dilemma as the Kodiaq SUV, simply because there is no seven-seat Superb. What you get is a hugely useful and practical estate which, even though it loses some boot space to the big battery, is still massive inside. Comfortable too, well-made, and not bad to drive. It even gets decent fuel economy on long runs, and can go for 60 miles on electric power. The only problem? It’s quite expensive by Skoda standards.
