Car changing is a big deal
Skoda’s lineup of electric cars is growing, with a couple of new and exciting models coming over the coming months. News editor Jamie Edkins is going to take you through the current and future EV lineup.
If you came to me and asked for a car which is comfortable, well-made, practical and affordable, chances are I’ll recommend some sort of Skoda. The Czech brand makes fantastic all-rounders, but if you’re ready to switch to an electric car then Skoda’s range is a bit limited.
As it stands you can choose between the Enyaq and the Elroq, which are both SUVs that look pretty much the same. However, there are a few more electric Skoda’s coming this year, including a small SUV which senior reviews writer Mario Christou has driven.
Current Skoda electric cars: the Elroq is the best
Let’s kick off with the Skoda EVs you can buy right now, starting with the best one.
Skoda Elroq

The Skoda Elroq is our favourite electric car from Skoda, and it’s also one of the best all-round EVs. It costs from a shade under £32,000, making it slightly cheaper than a Volvo EX30, but it offers acres of rear legroom and a roomy 470-litre boot.
It may not be quite as exciting to look at as something like a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or a Renault Scenic, but the Elroq is properly comfortable to drive and comes with loads of clever interior storage solutions. As a family car, the Elroq is hard to beat.
Skoda Enyaq

But what if you want even more space? Well that’s easy: you go for the bigger Skoda Enyaq. For an extra £7,000 you get a 585-litre boot, a full 100 litres more than you get in a Kia EV6, and it gets additional rear legroom over the Elroq as well.
It even looks almost exactly the same as its smaller stablemate, meaning it’s still not going to set your world on fire. The Enyaq ranks below the Elroq simply because it costs that bit more for just a bit of added space, which only the busiest of families will realistically need. It’s still a super-comfy and great-value electric SUV.
Future Skoda electric cars: we’ve driven the new Epiq
If there’s not currently an electric Skoda to suit your needs, don’t panic. There are a few new models on the way soon which may fit the bill, including a small SUV and a massive seven-seater.
New Skoda Epiq: on sale mid-2026

The Skoda Epiq will be the smallest electric car the brand offers when it goes on sale this year. It’s around the same size as the petrol-powered Kamiq, and Mario Christou has driven a camouflaged prototype.
He was impressed with how easy it is to drive in town, with a tight turning circle and light steering making tight manoeuvres a breeze. It’s pretty comfortable over bumps as well, although Mario did notice that it can jiggle about a bit over smaller imperfections.
Order books will open in mid-2026, and we expect the new Skoda Epiq to cost around £25,000.
New Skoda Peaq: reveal coming at the end of 2026

On the other end of the spectrum, Skoda will also be launching a new flagship seven-seat EV by the end of 2026. It’s called the Peaq, and it’ll share a lot of design features with the Vision 7S concept we saw a couple of years ago.
Technical details are thin on the ground for now, but we expect it to use the same collection of parts as the current Enyaq. This means it could have an 82kWh battery pack providing around 350 miles of range.
New Skoda Vision 0: coming before 2030

Looking a bit further ahead we have this: the Skoda Vision 0. It’s just a concept car for now, but it gives you an idea of what a future electric estate car, possibly the next Octavia, could look like.
There are no technical details for now, but I have been to look around the Vision 0 concept in person. In true Skoda fashion there are plenty of clever features dotted around the cabin, including some hidden storage bins in the boot opening. The production version of this car will be toned-down slightly, but even so I’m just excited to see Skoda keeping the estate car alive in this SUV age.
