Why should you consider the Toyota Proace City Verso Electric?
Toyota has based this car on the Proace City Electric van, so there’s a massive amount of space in that boxy body. You can have it in five- and seven-seat forms, and a choice of two different lengths, giving you lots of flexibility for carrying all the family and all their luggage, and you can even fill it with adults relatively comfortably.
Unfortunately, there’s only one battery option for the Proace City Verso, and it isn’t especially large. At 50kWh, it only provides a range of about 213miles, and the boxy shape means it’s even less on the motorway. But if all you want to do is take the kids to school and head off to work or the shops, it’ll be more than adequate.
In fact, the Proace City is brilliant in town, thanks to light steering and good visibility, which make it easy to manoeuvre and position. It isn’t quite so good on a winding road, though, with the van DNA showing through in the corners. That said, it’s comfortable enough and the weight of the battery is low in the floor, meaning there isn’t too much body roll.
